first trip to the hair dresser

Yup, at aged six, Princess had never been to the hairdresser. I’d never seen a need to. I mean, as much as she hates me washing her hair, it’s generally not too much of a fuss to wash and plait her hair once every week or two myself. But she’s been asking to go and I made a promise to take her over the summer. To me, promises mean a lot and I tend to stick to them, particularly where missy is concerned!first trip to hairdresser

We went to Afrotherapy Salon in Edmonton, North London. I’ve been going there on and off for over ten years so it made perfect sense for that to be the hair dresser we’d use for Princess’ maiden voyage into the world of hair dressing. We have to say a massive thank you to Joseph, who washed and blow dried Princess’ hair, as well as to Michelle, who gave Princess her first trim. She was a little peeved off at having her hair cut but I think she liked the end result enough to forget about it really quickly!princess in afrotherapy

She’s already looking forward to go back to Afrotherapy again. I think we’ll take another trip before school. If you’re looking for a natural hairdresser in London for your natural or relaxed hair or for your kids, I’d recommend you give Afrotherapy Salon a visit. They were really child friendly and made us feel really welcome, as well as imparting some useful hair care tips on us.
