Some people say it’s pessimistic to create a bucket list, as if you are some how chancing fate and willing God to snatch you away sooner than He had planned by deciding to write down the things you would like to accomplish, see or experience before you die. I don’t believe that to be the case at all. I have a tonne of things I would like to do before I die and if the last few months have taught me anything, it is that life is too short to worry about what ifs. We may not like to think about it but the truth is none of us know when our last day may be and I’d like to make each day as precious in case there is no tomorrow. I may never accomplish everything on my Bucket List but I’m sure having it there in black and white (oh yes and of course, online) will mean I’m likely to achieve a hell of a lot more than if I left the ideas in my head.

I’ve broken down my list to a few things I would like to achieve in the next 12 months. Trust me my overall list is quite exhaustive and I’ve picked off some that I feel should be obtainable within 12 months! Hmm maybe I should do quarterly updates to let you know how I get on?

  1. Learn to use my new DSLR in more than the basic modes
  2. Buy a car – it’s no fun relying on lifts and spending a fortune on public transport!
  3. Take Princess somewhere amazing on holiday (Maybe Beijing for the Great Wall or Egypt for the Pyramids)
  4. Feel and look amazing in a bikini
  5. Teach Princess to read and write with confidence
  6. Interview someone I respect and admire
  7. Run a 10k this summer
