- Don’t rely on other people for your happiness
- True friends are there for you. Period.
- Love but don’t be a slave to it
- Dance in the rain
- Read ferociously
- Follow your dreams even when they scare you
- Buy cheap buy twice
- Write handwritten letters
- When in doubt, talk it out
- You will fail at some things. That’s ok
- Pick yourself back up
- Have a hobby for the pure joy it brings
- You don’t need anyone else’s validation, you really are awesome
- Look after your health
- Travel. A lot
- Don’t apologise unless you truly are sorry
- Know when to let go
- Some people will enter your life and be your kryptonite
- Watch those old films your parents recommend
- Music really was better back in the day
- Take photos. The moment may seem insignificant at the time but capture it anyway
- Ask questions
- Give when you can
- Be an advocate for those who need one
- Women can be fierce too
- Their right might not be right for you
- Always aim for more than you ever thought possible to achieve
- You are worthy
- Find your tribe. They will have your back
- Learn to be comfortable being alone
- Learn to cook well. You need to eat after all
- Treat yourself
- Buy well made bras. Trust me on this
- Love your body
- You will make mistakes. Learn from them
- Ask for help
- Never stop learning
- People may judge you. Do it anyway
- Participate in community activities
- Don’t ignore injustice
- Support a cause
- Eat the damn cake
- Your job title doesn’t define your worth
- Raising children is magical and terrifying but that’s ok
- Exercise. Your body will thank you for it
- Love has no caveats
- Don’t apologise for being you
- Wear your hair how you like it
- Dress in a way that fills you with confidence and joy. Not how a magazine tells you to
- Create your own standards to live to
- Keep a journal
- You are good enough
- You’re never too young to start saving money
- Expensive doesn’t equal better
- Make me proud
- Make me worry
- Do it anyway
- Love your life for you
- It’s ok to change your mind
- Nobody cooks as well as your mum. Except maybe your grandma
- Learn about your heritage
- Hug your children as often as you can
- Be present but look forward
- If you’re going to do it, do it well
- Choose a partner who makes you laugh even at your lowest moments
- Don’t sacrifice your personality to fit in. Be true to you.
- Do it because you want to not because others do
- Jump off that cliff. With a parachute
- Kiss your kids goodnight even if they’re already sleeping
- Don’t ignore your inner voice
- Be the change you want in your life don’t rely on others to do it for you
