I love Disney films in general but nothing has given me the same wow factor since being in the premiere screening for Frozen and getting that tingle along my spine that told me that something special was about to happen. Frozen was a massive success for Disney and I feel Disney’s Moana is set to go the same way.
Lin Manuel Miranda’s soundtrack alone is worthy of awards. I’m going to get the CD as it’s fabulous, uplifting and very emotive. The film, too is a rollercoaster of emotions.

What is Moana about?
Moana is a courageous, stubborn, inquisitive teen, born to lead her island tribe, the only problem is she longs to explore and is finally given the chance to head out to the ocean and follow her heart in order to save her island from destruction.
Equal parts funny and heart tugging, we watch Moana battle the ocean and the equally stubborn demigod Maui, in order to undo the curse he caused to her Polynesian island region thousands of years ago.

We have a great cast list, as to be expected from Disney. The lead, Moana is voiced by sixteen year old Auli’i Cravalho and Maui the demigod is Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson
The verdict
I cried three times during this film. I kid you not. I’m an emotional pregnant mess, but I feel that even if I were my normal rational self, it would’ve still brought me to tears. There is something so uplifting and powerful in the imagery and soundtrack in this latest soon to be classic from Disney.
