babymule nappy bag review post on circusmums uk parenting blog

It’s so nice having had two babies, both in the warmer months. It’s light until late and the sun is back by around 4am anyway so it doesn’t feel so soul destroying being up at all hours of the day and night! That being said I still wouldn’t mind a few extra hours sleep every now and then. These long hot days have their advantages. For instance, it’s given us a lot of time outdoors – going on epic walks with the baby in a sling and our new BabyMule changing bag on my back.

It’s funny that as much as I pushed for a very specific travel system my favourite way of travelling with Bob at the moment is in her sling. She’s happier for longer and I love having her against me;  babies don’t stay little for long, we may as well enjoy every snuggle. With Princess both myself and the King’s baby wore quite a bit and I think this time our use varies, with me using the sling, him the pushchair.

Our travel choices vary as do our personalities. I’m definitely more of the impulsive, ‘let’s have pancakes for dinner’ parent. I think The King is more vanilla. Princess would describe him as being quite strict though I’m sure he would disagree.

What we can both agree on is that we didn’t want an overly feminine, pretty, handbag style changing bag. I’m more of a rucksack or leather satchel lady and The King wanted something that he could feel comfortable carrying around with him when he had the baby by himself. Luckily the BabyMule bag can be used three ways so it works for both of us both in carry style and aesthetics.

The BabyMule nappy bag can be worn over the shoulder, attached to a buggy and also as a backpack. I prefer using it as a backpack at the moment as pre-baby I usually wore a backpack to work and so this feels the most natural. The bag contains so many different sections making a perfect for storing everything from your nappies spare clothes bottles etc, to your car keys or purse and, in our case, even a camera or two!

I love that the BabyMule’s appearance doesn’t  scream nappy bag. I admit to using it even without having a baby in tow just because it is such a versatile bag. It’s worth mentioning that even if it doesn’t look like nappy bag from the outside it very much is one within. With great accessories including a wet bag, changing bag which also doubles as a cool bag when the children are bit older, bottle holder and a very useful changing mat too.

We’re starting to use fabric nappies when we’re out and about now that they fit her properly! The BabyMule is big enough to hold a decent stash of nappies, spare clothes and all the other essentials.

The BabyMule retails at bit over £80. But it’s worth mentioning that it’s currently on sale over at HippyChick from £59.99 The fact that this bag will last for many years and is so versatile makes it well worth the money and that comes from me who in general is quite tight!

If I had to give this bag marks out of 10 I’d give it 8. The only reason I wouldn’t mark it higher is becauseI find it hard to differentiate between different pockets. Maybe there’s some kind of colour coding to the zipper tags to make it easier, then I’d give it a whole 10 out of 10. Or perhaps after using it long enough I’ll come to remember where I’ve put things, in which case it’s totally down to me and not the bag’s designs.

I can see this bag lasting a long time and being put back into use when / if we ever decided to add yet another baby to the family!babymule changing bag review on circusmums uk blog
