Right so I’m a little bit late in writing this up, I actually weighed in on Friday and now it’s Wednesday so I thought I’d better get this up before my next weigh in comes around! As I mentioned earlier, I did keep an eye on the scale for most of the week so I already knew the scales were heading in the right direction but it was still a lovely feeling when Friday morning came around and I weighed myself for my ‘official’ weigh in!
I’ve lost 3.07lbs in the last week and a half! Now it isn’t as drastic as the 8lbs or something immense I lost in the first week of Atkins or the Dukan diet but seeing as I only managed to stick to either of those for a matter of weeks because of how restrictive I found them, I’d much rather go with a slow, steady and realistic pace if it means I can keep it up! I’ve eaten tonnes of really filling and imaginative meals over the last couple of weeks, some of my own creation and some from the Weight Watchers ‘The Complete Kitchen’ recipe book. I’ve never felt hungry, in fact, sometimes I worried I was eating too much and that my allowance of ProPoints was too generous. Obviously not as even with a few very cheeky meals there is still a weight loss to report on!
It’s been amazing taking on this challenge with fellow bloggers. Sometimes when I feel like just shrugging it off and heading for a digestive, an email pops up on the iPhone about something #WWBack2Best related and suddenly I’m back on the ball. The Weight Watchers phone app is also good at keeping me on the straight and narrow, I found myself checking Points Values in Asda the other day, much to the annoyance of a bored Princess. I also really like the fact that it has motivational stories and articles on it, I normally browse through them on the train journey home and it stops me from offering to buy a takeaway rather than opting for a healthy dinner. I can’t always find all of the foods I eat on the app but normally find a suitable substitute or work out the points manually and input them. The only real bugbear is it would be great if the app had a barcode scan option but hey ho there’s room for improvement on everything and the rest of the app is great so there’s no point in moaning!
To stop myself from having any excuses to pig out on unhealthy things at the end of the day when we’re most likely to call in for a curry out of tiredness (laziness??) to cook, I bought these little beauties in Asda, great steam and serve meals which I’d never seen before so I’m guessing when they say NEW on the packet they really mean it! Yummy and only 7 Pro Points per meal, I threw some hot sauce and black pepper on these and was ready to go! For the most part I’m preparing everything fresh but it’s great to have meals like these in the freezer on stand by.
I haven’t lost enough weight for it to be evident on any part of my body, but somehow, knowing that I have some sense of control over what I’m eating and in turn control over how I will look has given me more self confidence in my appearance as I am now. I treated myself to some new dresses an
d high heels for work and even though there are lumps and bumps (particularly my tummy) I don’t mind because I really like the idea of watching them change on me as the weeks go by. I know it’s really early days and I have a long way to go but you’ll see, even if there is the odd slip up on certain weeks, the general picture is going to get smaller and smaller!
