Infomercials were made for people like me! Last week I woke up early and watched a good five minutes of the INSANITY advert before locating the remote control, next thing you know I’ve taken to Facebook asking for someone to lend me thier copy and the gorgeous Elena, a friend from school days offered me hers! I’ve got a friend and a cousin taking part remotely with me and this morning was Day 1 of the 60 day challenge!!
The only time I have to myself to exercise is before work, This meant waking up at 4:30am in order to fit it in amd still get ready in time. OK I cannot begin to tell you how hard it was waking up at 4:30am…I had an internal battle with myself for nearly 20 minutes an finally made it down the stairs a little before 4:50am. Really glad I did though. It was something on Pinterest about never regretting the work outs you made only the ones you missed that ended up being the kick up the arse needed and even made me fake enthusiasm, throw some air punches and try and look as chirpy as Sean T and his two pals on the DVD.
Day 1 is a Fit Test. Oh my oh my was it hard! I’m not sure working out with so little food and fluids worked in my favour but at the same time, if I’d eaten before hand I don’t think it would have stayed down! Star jump planks, suicide jumps, burpees, we were put through our paces, even Sean T’s pals looked a little knackered by the finish which pleased me no end! I kicked up a sweat and have to admit it’s scary thinking how bad tomorrow will be if that was just the fitness test! From the results I’ve seen on other people who’ve taken the INSANITY challenge, partiularly women who have combined it with Weight Watchers, as I am doing, it definately gives me the incentive to stick with it no matter how awful 4:30 am starts are or how much you ache afterwards!
I’ll keep you posted and perhaps be brave enough to take some ‘before’ pics in my work out gear though I’ll save you the discomfort of a bikini shot like you get on the infomercials!
