Princess started Primary school just under a couple of weeks ago and The King and I thought it important to both see her off on her fledgling journey into the world of academia together, you know moral support in case either of us became overcome by emotions. That's right it seems it was more for our benefit than hers, she took to it like a duck to water and is having a whale of a time in her new school.
The first week, the kids are only in class for a couple of hours so my idea of spending the morning in the gym training like a hardcore gym buff went out the window, by the time you made it through the rush hour traffic and accounted for a shower (it would be totes uncool turning up at the school gate pongy) it didn't leave time for much exercise.
The second week, Princess is in lessons until after lunch which is great. I've exercised, written blog posts, napped, crocheted, contemplated tidying the bedrooms, all sorts! It was super productive and kind of made me think that staying home full time and working during school hours would be an amazing idea. Not that my current banking role would allow for this but hey, don't burst my bubble. If I can't dream on my own blog, where can I!?
I didn't buy any new work wear but then there's always this weekend! I'll be helping run the MustMiveCrew charity dance event on Saturday but Wetsfield is open on a Sunday so there's still a chance I'll fix my wardrobe problems before Monday (fingers crossed
I've been thinking about ways to fit in more exercise once I go back to work, I tried running but was never too keen on running through crowds of people at lunch, perhaps I'll get back t my kettlebells on weekdays and try to hit the gym at least a couple of days a week for a decent run or cycle (nope I'm not hardcore enough to brave the torrential rain outside, I know a lot of the peeps I follow are there, but I'm not quite there yet).
All in all, my two weeks off have been enlightening, it's been great spending time with Princess, exercising more frequently and getting time to myself. Did you take time off for your kids' first days of school? How much time did you get to yourself and what did you use it for!?
This is a sponsored post, all views and opinions expressed in it are my own, I really don't like running in torrential rain and Princess really does love her new school. That is all!
