Ok so I love to eat and don’t particularly enjoy exercising. Having a full time job that has me out of the house at 7am and not back until 7pm alongside looking after a 4 year old Diva leaves me with tonnes of excuses why I simply can’t fit in the time to exercise. The problem is I know they are excuses!
When I wanted to, I got up half an hour early, at 5am (yup 5am that’s what I said) and did the 30 day shred or went for a 30min run / cycle. I felt great for the rest of the day, wondered how I’d ever survived without the natural rush I floated on for hours afterwards and vowed to never give up on the new healthy me. Then I’d give up. Yup, I’d miss a day or so and conveniently forget how great it felt to be eating well and exercising regularly. I’d forget how amazing it felt seeing the number on the scale regress and my clothing swoosh over my body rather than pinch.
Now I’m the heaviest I’ve ever been ever! I’m a couple stone heavier than I was at nine months pregnant so I can’t even lie and say I put it on and couldn’t lose it when I had Princess. This is all food lust and little exercise.
I’m trying to re-educate myself into loving smaller portions, healthier foods and finding the time to exercise daily, but with high impact sessions to make up for the short amount of time I have to do it. I’ll be posting some of the delicious (sorry no cottage cheese here) recipes I try out and whatever fitness regimes I stick to.
If there’s an appetite for it, I may make it a linky but until then, please feel free to share any recipes/ posts you have via the comments!
Avocado and Chicken Salad
This is my go to lunch, I’m not sure of the calorie content as I don’t count them. This is great because if I forget my lunch, this is a very inexpensive one to buy on the spot!
- Quarter rotisserie chicken (I go to Waitrose and buy them piping hot)
- Half ripe avocado
- One bag of prewashed salad leafs.
Skin and shred the chicken, place on bed of salad leafs and chop half an avocado over the top. I usually add a bit of Econa sweet chilli sauce for extra kick!
