So we moved out of our old house a year ago but kept Princess in the same child care facility because her child minder is ACE! Also, we weren’t sure how long it would be until we found our new ‘dream’ home so wanted to keep the upheaval to a minimum. It turns out it’s taking us longer than we expected so it’s quite a good thing we left her in the child minder’s good hands!
The one problem is where we are at the moment is on the other side of town, we used to be able to walk it / grab a bus a few stops in the mornings but for the past year we’ve cabbed it to the child minder then I’ve continued my journey to work on every form of public transport going bar the Thames Clipper.
With the glorious weather we’ve been having of recent, my childminder coaxed me into taking the bus to hers. It meant leaving the house 30 minutes early but since I’ve been getting up an hour early to run anyway, it hasn’t been a big deal. Princess has absolutely loved the 10 min walk to the bus stop, in which she has been riding her Mini Micro Scooter and chatting away to me (mostly about death but that’s a whole other post). I’m really surprised at how quickly she took to the change in routine but I think having a stricter morning (time wise) suits her personality, like me she’s not a natural morning person so needs a little bit more of a push to get ready in the mornings, we both keep an eye on the clock and know we’ve got to be out the door by a certain time if we’re to meet the bus!
In total the journey take 30mins door to door and I’m actually getting in early to work, something I haven’t been able to achieve in months! The only problem is balancing our outfits as the morning is still chilly even if it has been reaching upwards of 27 degrees Celsius in the height of the day. We’ve been going for summer outfits with hoodies or pretty cardigans so we can chuck the warmth layers in our bags during the journey home.
I’m hooking this post up to Very Busy Mama’s Trendy Toddler Tuesday because I think Princess looked sweet in this outfit. As you can see the hoody is from GAP, it’s fleecy and super soft, underneath she has an organic cotton long sleeved top from H&M and pink short that I think were Primark, sandals were definitely Primark, we picked them up in their Malaga branch in Spain as the ones she was wearing that day were too uncomfortable!
