>Frugal Find – Children’s Bookshelf

Princess went out with her grandparents on the weekend and managed to come back with a new
book shelf. I’ve been playing with the idea of making her sling shelves from fabric and curtain polls
but I’m not that great with DIY and haven’t held a sewing needle since my GCSE days.

With money being tight and having a million things to save up towards, we’ve found ourselves becoming a lot more frugal and thinking twice before buying new things. This is why I actually contemplated the idea of making my own set of shelves, before coming to terms with the fact I’d probably cause more harm than good. I’m simply not that great at DIY.

The book shelf came flat packed and Princess managed to put it together with the help of her
Granddad. It was bought in Wilkinson for £22 and is extremely sturdy. We’re going to buy some
Disney Princess Stickers to jazz it up a bit and may invest in another unit for her ever growing shoe
collection! I think this was really good value for money and would be a perfect addition to any girl’s bedroom. They also have a blue version available for boys too!

    >That's fab! We have been looking for similar in blue or green ( or even plain to paint) for the Wee Dude, but to no avail. Shame we don't have wilkos here. Alas we will continue our search…… xx

    >We used to have our lined up next to put fireplace too! It's handy as it means kids can pick for themselves!
