PWT’s pick of Alfresco Cinemas in London

With the return of the warm weather now is the perfect time to relax on a deck chair, Martini in hand and enjoy a classic flick.
Here are some of the cinema treats on offer at the moment.

1. Films on Fridges (Jul 27- Aug 13)

Inspired by Fridge Mountain which previously occupied the London 2012 Olympic site, Films on Fridges is a pop-up cinema currently running at the Foreman Smoke House Gallery Yard, East London.
Films are sports-centric, with titles ranging from Cool Runnings to Pelada.
Tickets are £10 each
Films start at sunset, so around 9pm with doors open from 8pm

2. Roof Top Cinema, Queen of Hoxton (1 Jun- 1 Sept)

Set on top of the ultra popular bar in trendy East London, this cinema is open 5 days per week and features a varied mix of films including Waynes World, Casablanca and The Kings Speech.
These nights are extremely popular so you have to book in advance or try your luck at the box office on the night.
Tickets are £9 each
Films start at 9.30pm

3.Lexi Cinema Presents The Nomad, Various Locations 
(All year)

A marraige of minds, The Lexi Cinema is the child of The Screen on the Green and Lexi Cinema, Kensal Rise. As the name suggests, this is a nomadic venture which presents screenings in various locations including Parks, Stately Homes and Lidos!
Films this month include Mama Mia and Inception.
Tickets are £12.50 each

4. The Floating Cinema, East London Canals 
(1 July – 18 Sept)

Based on a reconditioned long boat, the floating cinema offers a unique cinematic experience and so much more. Weaving its ways through the water ways of East London and the Olympic Park, the narrow boat will also host canal-side events, talks and workshops.
Films include a Shoreditch Film History Tour with Ian Christie.
